The Chapter has approximately ninety members including
arborists, community activists, enthusiasts, landscape architects, landscape historians, students, and writers.
HOW TO JOIN
Membership is free.
If you have a Yahoo account or would like to create one:
- join the group by going to the halsncc e-group home page and clicking on Join This Group
- leave the group by going to the halsncc e-group home page and clicking on Edit Membership followed by Leave Group
If you do not have a Yahoo account and do not want to create one:
- join the mailing list by sending an e-mail to halsncc-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
(ignore the enticements to create a Yahoo account, and instead join the mailing list only)
- leave the mailing list by sending an e-mail to halsncc-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
Post a message to the group by sending it to halsncc@yahoogroups.com
For assistance with your membership, please send an e-mail to the group owner ( halsncc-owner@yahoogroups.com ), rather than the entire group.
RULES OF COURTESY
Our objective is to be inclusive, but we would like to limit our focus to individuals and organizations that have a serious interest in historic landscapes.
You are encouraged to invite others of like mind to join this group, but when doing so please include the following Rules of Courtesy.
E-groups can be a wonderfully efficient means of communicating and it's free, but they are subject to the same sort of spam and virus problems that all e-mail is vulnerable to.
We ask that anyone who chooses to participate be diligent about keeping the group problem free.
- Use the site to respond to queries about historic landscapes or to share such information.
- Send the address to others who share an interest in historic landscapes.
- Announce events about historic landscapes.
- Do a book or periodical review that features historic landscapes.
- Schedule meetings of the HALS Northern California Chapter.
- If you must transmit cartoons or anecdotes, they should be on the subject of historic landscapes.
- Do not use the site for any purpose not directly related to historic landscapes.
