The Chapter has approximately ninety members including arborists, community activists, enthusiasts, landscape architects, landscape historians, students, and writers.

HOW TO JOIN

Membership is free.

If you have a Yahoo account or would like to create one:

  • join the group by going to the halsncc e-group home page and clicking on Join This Group
  • leave the group by going to the halsncc e-group home page and clicking on Edit Membership followed by Leave Group

If you do not have a Yahoo account and do not want to create one:

  • join the mailing list by sending an e-mail to halsncc-subscribe@yahoogroups.com (ignore the enticements to create a Yahoo account, and instead join the mailing list only)
  • leave the mailing list by sending an e-mail to halsncc-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com

Post a message to the group by sending it to halsncc@yahoogroups.com

For assistance with your membership, please send an e-mail to the group owner ( halsncc-owner@yahoogroups.com ), rather than the entire group.

RULES OF COURTESY

Our objective is to be inclusive, but we would like to limit our focus to individuals and organizations that have a serious interest in historic landscapes. You are encouraged to invite others of like mind to join this group, but when doing so please include the following Rules of Courtesy. E-groups can be a wonderfully efficient means of communicating and it's free, but they are subject to the same sort of spam and virus problems that all e-mail is vulnerable to. We ask that anyone who chooses to participate be diligent about keeping the group problem free.
  1. Use the site to respond to queries about historic landscapes or to share such information.
  2. Send the address to others who share an interest in historic landscapes.
  3. Announce events about historic landscapes.
  4. Do a book or periodical review that features historic landscapes.
  5. Schedule meetings of the HALS Northern California Chapter.
  6. If you must transmit cartoons or anecdotes, they should be on the subject of historic landscapes.
  7. Do not use the site for any purpose not directly related to historic landscapes.
